• Orders must be placed by Monday at 5:00 pm for Pick-Up on Thursdays weekly.

Please specify in the notes section of the check out page what Thursday you would like to pick up your product.

• Because most of our customers are urban, Pick-Up will be available at:

131 Stonegate Crescent, NW, Airdrie, AB.

• Meat products will be in fresh Cryovac packages and can be stored in a refrigerator for up to 10 days. Meat products can also be frozen and can be stored for up to 12 months.


• Butters can be stored for up to one month in the freezer.

• Seasoning can store up to 6 months if sealed air tight.


Riverstone Cattle Company is a Purebred Livestock operation 15 minutes west of Olds, Alberta. The livestock business runs deep in our roots and beef has always been a regular on the daily menu and we were often asked by several people the best way to cook it. Everyone always inquires "why the steak they pick up at the grocery store never tastes like the ones at a high end steakhouse"... but when they come to our house for supper it does. What could they possibly be doing wrong? Well there are certainly some "tricks".  When selecting and cooking the perfect steak, first and foremost is choosing a top quality steak with plenty of marbling and that has been aged at least 21-28 days. Then using a seasoning that seals in and enhances the natural flavor of the beef without overpowering it with spices as it cooks is key and finishing it off with a kick at the end using a favorite flavored butter.  **** Keep reading , complete directions to preparing the perfect steak is below****

When COVID hit in March of 2020 my sister Heather who owns and operates a high quality gift box and design business (DARK FOREST DESIGNS) was finding it hard to source products to use in her annual Fathers Day Gift Boxes. With the shutdown of business, she had to find something unique, local and something every man would love as a gift. After much consideration and discussion the idea was born of a "Beef & Barley" box. It would include premium steaks, Riverstone signature seasoning, ranch butter, snacks, beer and everything you needed to know of how to cook the perfect piece of meat. The response was overwhelming  with many of the customers inquiring how to purchase more steaks, seasoning and butter.  VOILA' ...The Riverstone Fresh Market was born!


GRILLING: Prepare a hot grill. While the grill is heating, smother the steaks in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil then coat the steaks with the signature seasoning covering them completely. When the grill is ready, cook the steaks to your desired temperature. Top your steaks with a dab of Ranch Butter and let steaks rest for 5 minutes.

KITCHEN: You can also preheat your oven to 450 degrees. After coating the steaks in oil and seasoning, sear the steaks in a heavy skillet over high heat for about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer the steaks to a baking sheet and bake for 5 - 10 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees. Remove from the oven, top your steaks with a dab of Ranch Butter and let steaks rest for 5 minutes.
